There are so many lists out there. Lists of things to do, places to go, things you want,... I even e-mail myself lists of things to do at school from home and vice versa. I seem to get many thought provoking lists via e-mail from friends. This one I thought had some good advice. I wonder how the author narrowed it down to these ten. I can think of one or two more to add to this, what would you add as #11?
1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them'.
2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.
3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.' And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.
4. Enjoy the simple things.
5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.
7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge, don't worry what others think.
8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.
10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
11. ?

Reinventing
"Be willing to reinvent yourself." This quote stood out to me in Joel Osteen's sermon this morning. His 7 keys to improving your life every day include:
1. Keep Pressing Forward
2. Be Positive Toward Yourself
3. Develop Better Relationships
4. Form Better Habits
5. Embrace The Place You Are
6. Develop Your Inner Life
7. Stay Passionate About Life
I haven't read his book, but I think the list is very appropriate for a new year message. We could all benefit from working on such a list.

I've been tagged!
My friend Carol at http://carolchil.blogspot.com/ tagged me. This one asks each person tagged to share 7 random and/or weird facts about themselves, then tag 7 random people and include their links. My 7 random/weird facts:
1. I was an exchange student to Sweden the summer of 1975.
2. I watch those clutter shows about people who collect too much and identify a little too closely to them. To think of someone coming in and throwing my "stuff" away is scary in fact.
3. I'm a morning person. Growing up if one of us were in bed past 7 am, Mom wondered if we were sick. We all still continue to be early risers.
4. I answer to many names, growing up I had a nickname from my Great Uncle Elmer of Ruleslupe (something Swedish I've been told, "roligt" pronounced softly as in "roo-le", meaning fun one? I'm sure I killed the Swedish spelling) Dad and a neighbor continued with it, then there was Diane, Di and it was Johnson in high school and in college I became Johns, as a teacher kids started calling me Miss J. I've even got a couple friends out there who actually call me Lady Di.
5. I'm a peanut butter junkie. Especially love dipping apples in it and can't turn down a peanut butter cup so don't dare have them in the house. Hmmm... just typing this makes me want to have a spoonful now.
6. I have two computers hooked up to the internet in my office. My iMac and my brother's PC. How's that for a techie nerd?
7. I hate winter driving and avoid it at all costs.
I don't know 7 bloggers well enough to tag, so am asking some of my regular viewers to leave comments in my comment section below. Let me know who's dropping by and tell me the random weirdness that makes you you!
